GT50 - Geopolymer mortar with high chemical resistance
After years of studying, developing, and conducting laboratory tests, we decided to obtain real-world results with our amazing new Geoteria GT50, the geopolymer mortar for concrete resurfacing and chemical protection. One of our best customers accepted the challenge because they had a critical area in their factory where no long-lasting solution had been found. It is one of the most well-known chemical distribution companies in Northern Italy, and it has a facility where it cleans and regenerates IBC containers, removing residues of any acid (such as sulphuric, nitric, hydrochloric, and so on) and bases as well. This continuous spillage deeply etched the concrete, undermining functionality and waterproofing, and raising concerns about environmental safety and potential ground pollution.
May 2024
In May 2024, with the help of one of the best paving companies, we installed a 2 cm slab of Geoteria GT50 and finished it conventionally with a hard-trowel system.
The picture shows the concrete floor completely etched by the washout of the IBC 1000-litre containers.

Two years later, in May 2026, we come back to check the results. The customer is enthusiastic, the operations manager declared, “It resists a minimum of ten times more than any other solution we tried”.
And, indeed, the results are fully satisfactory.
